What do I need to attend training?

For Online eLearning:

  • A desktop or laptop computer connected to the internet
  • Two screens: one can be a laptop screen, an additional monitor and/or a 10” or larger tablet (iPad, Android or Windows)
  • Access to a microphone and speakers such as the internal laptop microphones and speakers, or an external headset.
  • The format and learning experience are the same online as in-person class, simply delivered by a live remote instructor in a virtual environment.

For In-Person Training:

  • Yourself!
  • For students who are local to Regina, Saskatchewan and can attend in-person training, you will receive driving directions via email.
  • Pack a lunch or take advantage of several restaurants within walking distance during your lunch break.
  • Our on-premises classrooms offer the technical requirements for each student, such as a dual monitor computer.
What is the difference between Application and Technical Training?

Application Training is training for computer applications that general computer users typically use day-to-day. This includes training on Microsoft 365 / Office 365 programs such as Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc., Adobe Suite such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat DC. Whether your organization is moving to SharePoint and you need to learn how to use it, you want to learn how to use the advanced features of Microsoft Excel, or you want a broad overview of Microsoft's productivity applications, we have training solutions! Technical Training is training aimed towards IT professionals, administrators, and similar roles. This includes cybersecurity CompTIA A+ certifications, ITIL 4 Foundations, SQL and SQL databases, Microsoft Azure, Power BI, SharePoint Administration, programming languages, and more. Administrators can also benefit from more complex courses such as SharePoint Online for Administrators and our four day workshop, Microsoft Office 365 Expert. What is the Registration and Cancellation Policy?

All registrations must be received through the training website (microagetraining.ca) or directly through the Training Coordinator. Change of attendee can be requested up to 3 business days prior to the course start date. We will accept a course cancellation with a full refund to a minimum of 10 business days prior to the course start date. Cancellations within 10 days prior to the course start date will require full payment that will result in a course credit to be used within 6 months.

I work in government and we have a training budget to use before year end. what can i do?

Absolutely! We can accommodate budget limitations like that by offering training credits for future use. For more information, fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page and we will get in touch. Or, reach out to our IT Training Business Development Representative.

My organization is tax exempt. What do I need to do for billing?

Please email our Training Coordinator to inform MicroAge Training of your tax exempt status and we will make sure invoicing reflects that. We are very happy to accommodate tax exemption in billing. 

Does MicroAge Training offer custom class options?

If your organization has specific training needs that do not quite fit with our current training offerings, fill out the contact form on our Contact Us page or the form at the bottom of this page to ask about possible solutions. Our training team can schedule a consultation with you to discuss things such as end goals, budget, how many students, desired course dates, instructor availability. 

Does MicroAge Training offer Pearson VUE exams?

We can accommodate in-person proctored exams at our head office in Regina, Saskatchewan. If you would like to register for a proctored exam through Pearson VUE, please do so at their website. If you are not local to Regina, Saskatchewan, you will have to register at a location nearest to you.

What is the minimum number of students needed for a course to run?

The minimum number of students required for a course to run is four. These students do not all need to be from the same organization, unless you want a private class comprised only of students from your organization.

Does MicroAge Training offer in-person classes?

We can accommodate in-person classes at our head office in Regina, Saskatchewan. If you are not local to Regina, we offer hybrid and online elearning options. If you require an instructor to come to your office or worksite, please contact us using the form at the end of this page or on our Contact Us page to schedule a consultation with the MicroAge Training admin team. We will do our utmost to work with you to find a training option that suits your needs.

What is the maximum number of students allowed in a course?

To keep an ideal student-to-instructor ratio, the maximum number of students allowed in course is twelve. If you are looking for custom course options for your organization, please reach out with the contact form below and our Training Coordinator will schedule a consultation with you to find a solution to fit your needs.

How do I know which course level I should take?

You can read the course outlines to see if the prerequisites and course content matches your level of experience. For example, our Microsoft Excel course goes from level 1, level 2, then branches into three different level 3s that cover different advanced concepts. Then, Excel Level 4 - Advanced Tools for Data Analytics has Excel Level 3: Data List Management as a prerequisite, but does not require the other two level threes. If you are still unsure of which level to take for any of our available courses, please contact us below for guidance. We are happy to help select the right class for you. All consultations before final course registration have no cost attached.
